Maggie and Sam’s engagement session took place on the sandy East Shore of Lake Tahoe on a quiet early June evening. As locals, they wanted their engagement photos to reflect the natural beauty of the place they call home.

We kept the session relaxed and editorial, blending lightly directed portraits with candid movement along the shoreline. The cooler early-summer air and midweek timing gave us a peaceful stretch of beach near Sand Harbor, allowing space to slow down and create intentionally.

They brought their dog, Leon, for a few portraits at the beginning before settling into the evening together. As the sun dropped behind the mountains, the light softened and the lake turned deep blue. We ended the session with a few playful, high-energy frames along the water using subtle flash techniques for a modern, nostalgic finish.

If you’re looking for a Lake Tahoe engagement photographer who blends editorial structure with natural moments, the East Shore offers one of the most versatile backdrops on the lake.
